Sowter 9820 Input Transformer

Replacement for AP2622 . Primary has 2 equal 150 ohm windings which can be used in series or parallel for 600/150 ohms input. ratio 1:4.4 or 1:8.8. 100% mumetal core and can. 34 mm dia 24 mm high. Colour coded leads or optional PCB pins. Please note this is electrically equivalent but has a different pin arrangement and will not fit on the original PCB.

Sowter 8650 Line Output Transformer

For use in a high performance valve compressor/amplifier etc using either an ac coupled single ended or push-pull output stage. Can be used with a secondary load resistor e.g. 200 ohms will provide a constant reflected anode to anode load of 16000 ohms when the amplifier is feeding a high impedance load. This also lowers the effective output impedance of the amplifier and may be adjusted to define the amplifier gain. When used with a push-pull output stage the quiescent dc anode currents must be balanced to within 0.5 mA. Combination core using High grade Grain Oriented Silicon Iron (M6) and Mumetal (76% Nickel). This provides a high level capability, exceptional bandwidth and transient response which is maintained over the full dynamic range. This core also permits the use of a relatively high ratio which ensures minimal loading of the anode and a low output impedance for driving lines or complex loads. Drip UA175B.

Combination Mumetal/M6 core for minimal harmonic distortion, high level capability. The Mumetal part of the core also ensures excellent dynamic range and bandwidth and transient response. Internal electrostatic shield and bifilar wound primary for high common mode noise rejection. Mumetal can for magnetic shielding. Available on request with secondary centre tap instead of primary for phase splitting etc. The secondary may be loaded with 50k0 ohms which ensures a high input impedance of about 3k0 ohms. Centretap on secondary so the transformer can be used as a bridging input phase splitter for use in a push-pull amplifier. Available with leads or for PCB mounting. Federal.

Sowter 1478 Input Transformer

Exceptionally high level, high bandwidth, low distortion 600 ohm or 200 ohm input transformer. Suitable as replacement for original transformer in Trident A range, B range, Fleximix and other vintage recording studio units. No uncancelled dc permitted in primary or secondary windings. Unusually 70% Mumetal/30% M6 laminated core for minimal distortion even at very high levels. Very high inductance ensures an input impedance of at least 1000 Ohms over a wide frequency rqange when the secondary is loaded with 50K Ohms. Heavy Mumetal screening can to ensure immunity from hum fields.
